So... I tried a fireball CwC nimis build, but didnt like how it played (had to stay on top of boss for damage, felt squishy and could not reach the level of damage I saw in the video etc.). On console, it is quite hard to trade for OP items unless your shit rich, so I decided to scrap the build.
But, before starting to sell off all the gear, I decided, hey, lets try to respec into spark CwC. Just to see the glory of a thousand electrospiders fill the screen. And what do you know, it works pretty good! Never tried self cast spark, and I bet its better dps, but its pretty chill to just cyclone around and see several screens just dying - and the single target is passable as well. Pretty tanky for a 3k eHP character as well, due to petrified blood, regen and leech, and your always moving while casting. I die a lot less than compared to the fireball build at least.
Thought I would share this for some discussion if anyone see any immediate improvements (I have tweaked the PoB a bit to include some end game goals, such as a good watcher's eye, lvl 21 vaal spark, bottled faith etc.). The build is not cheap, but its not uber expensive either, and most good gear can be re-used for a self-cast version I assume (nimis, ashes, unnatural instinct etc.).

Since we are limited to casting 3,33 times pr. second with awakened cwc, and this value is unscalable (besides gem levels), I tried to scale skill effect duration, proj speed and number of projectiles to compensate. This results in a longer damage onset, but with nimis I get almost 9 seconds duration pr. spark cast, meaning we can get 13 instances of damage pr. spark cast's duration (which is why spark is set at 13x in the PoB, to estimate total damage potential). The full DPS in PoB will only be realistic under optimal conditions, but the damage feels pretty high when playing. I tried the Spark DPS calculation software (https://github.com/vegeto079/PoESparkDPSCalculator) and it states between 20 and 35 million DPS depending on arena size and positioning with the current data I get in PoB (hit DPS, number of projectiles, proj speed, pierce etc.).
Considering dropping Determination for Malevolance for even more skill effect duration, allowing us to push 50 million DPS according to the DPS Calculator. But determination is nice as well :)
Would love to hear any thoughts on the build and potential improvements.
