This is a modification of the traditional Poison SRS Necro build for pure Sanctum farming.
Goal of changes
- Comfortably farm Sanctum with any unique relic I wanted, except for Original Sin.
- Give my build enough damage so that I don't mind picking up a minus DPS affliction here and there.
- Give my build enough survivability so that I don't mind picking up an enemy DPS affliction.
Sanctum specific changes
- We don't care about block, it's useless in Sanctum
- Stay 1-shot immune. This isn't a no-hit build, so we don't want to fail our run because we died. To achieve this, we're going to invest into max life / crit reduction Tattoos and maintain determination.
- Focus on damage RAMP. This means the time it takes for us to hit max DPS is just as important as max DPS itself. By achieving 30m HIT DPS we drastically improve the speed at which we clear dangerous foes.
- For 3rd/4th floor bosses, I swap in desecrate + withering step so I can ramp dmg even faster.
Changes to the build
- Drop Unbound Ailments, which is pure DOT, for Ruthless support. Ruthless applies to both DOTs and hits, which makes it superior for ramping damage faster.
- Drop block / suppression defensive layers for more damage, add survivability via tattoos (max life, crit reduction)
- Run 2 clusters
- Removing tempest shield allows us to run skitterbots + profane proxy + punishment. Punishment is particularly strong because it also allows your minions to debilitate enemies which is really useful in Sanctum.
- Putting elegant hubris away from MoM. For me this was important for two reasons. I wanted to use Enduring Bond because having SRS last longer in Sanctum is very useful, as well as not wasting as many small passives. I bought mine for 1 divine.
- Getting resistances on your cluster jewels makes gearing easier as well as the transition to Profane Proxy
The net effect of all of these changes is that we hit DOT cap without any form of poison duration increase (including AG Temp chains). This means we ramp damage faster and hit DOT cap in 2 seconds
Remaining upgrades
- Fix helmet eldritch, despair curse effect + mana reservation efficiency. I didn't do this because I dropped 6 divine on greater eldritch and didn't hit either.
- Movement speed enchant on boots
- The following are potential dps upgrades, but I don't think they're worth it:
- Divergent multistrike
- Swap meatshield for lvl 1 precision (+6 attack speed, accuracy)
- Upgrading abyss jewels (5 div minimum per jewel)
- Speed catalysts on Bone Ring
- + Movement speed suffix on flasks. I have so little flask uptime that I haven't bothered with this.
- Getting a +1 or +2 minion skill gem helmet, so that you can run a third spectre. This is a really expensive upgrade though.
Other notes
- The glove mod for refreshing SRS doesn't seem to work on most unique monsters in Sanctum, only bosses.
- I haven't finished allocating tattoos. I don't think getting more aura effect tattoos is useful, because unless we get +25 to hit the next breakpoint on attack speed aura effect, they don't offer much more dps.
Cost
- I'd estimate the total cost of the build at around 20 divines at current prices.
- If you're buying your poison abyss jewels, it's going to cost a lot more. I crafted all of my own.
- The clusters were each <2 divines, as they had been on trade for a while and I was able to offer below asking for them.
- Getting non-poison abyss jewels is relatively cheap at the moment
Let me know what you thinik!
