People really seem to like builds that kill everything around them. I'm one of those people. I played Death's Oath in Kalandra. I'm trying to find a new build to play next league, as I think I've basically reached the peak on DO.
I started looking for other ways to achieve the "kill everything as you run through the map" effect, ideally that could be slotted into existing builds to speed up their clear. I came up with Holy Relic -> Infernal Legion. The basic theory is that Holy Relic sits on top of the PC. You can run two via Geofri's, so the damage is double what PoB says. It never dies if you run even a low level Vitality because the burn is %health while Vitality is +flat regen.
I gave it a shot, but it's not looking promising. This is what I came up with. The damage is, as you can see, quite bad. The gear on that build is not cheap (I mostly used stuff I've already got, even when that wasn't strictly optimal), and even still we're only at 750k Shaper. Internet says that people get into the millions on Righteous Fire. This could clear due to Profane Bloom, but the boss damage will suck even with Fire Trap.
Look, the reality is that I know almost nothing about Infernal Legion. This is what I came up with after a half-hour in PoB. I'm guessing someone who knows more than me can do better. That's why I'm asking for help.
Can anyone think of a way to make this better? I don't necessarily intend to play the build, but I'd be interested in seeing what people come up with. I don't care about cost. I don't care about availability of gear. This is purely theoretical. I'm just interested in methods of optimizing this (HR -> IL) as a damage dealing method.
I'd be fine doing a gear swap to kill bosses, presumably to some other kind of minion in a different 6L Chest, but it would be impressive if you found a way to break 2m Uber Pinnacle Boss with the 4L (or, I guess, 6L if you dump Prism Guardian - I'm just rather fond of it). That's a secondary concern.
Oh, and does anyone know what the AoE is on Infernal Legion? I tried running through campaign areas to get an idea, but I've never been good at spatial reasoning.
