I'm looking for ideas on how to improve this build and make it have respectable single target damage without compromising too much on league-start viability. I would rather have good defense and a little bit slower clear/bosskills as I plan to run this in hardcore, potentially even ssf. Is this even practically playable?

The idea is: stack defensive auras on your own mana, and stack offensive auras on the totems (acting similarly to divine blessing but for each totem you can have another aura) - and use a confirmed good main skill for damage. There could be a variant of the build which uses more totems and leaves a full mana pool to open up Manastorm shenanigans
I've made the build without using expensive solutions or crazy synergy in order to make my totem auras completely free of cost, so with optimization and more currency the build will function the same just 200% efficiency.
I have made different POB's for this build before and been wanting to make it in-game, but I'm struggling to get damage without clusters/awakened gems (aka league-start scenario OR budget scenario)

I'm also a bit confussled whether it's better to go for CI or hybrid.

Cheap uniques to help? Cheap clusters that could replace some of the tree?
