Two configs, one with Zealotry and one with Grace. I only ever used the Zealotry config because I don't find evasion to be meaningful when recovery is not an issue.
Disclaimer: Not a cheap build.
There's a new source of stackable mitigation with charms that provide "Prevent +6% of Suppressed Spell Damage while on Full Energy Shield". With 4 of these on charms and TWWT, and also Trickster's Spellbreaker (Scion Trickster gives 6% compared to 10%), Inveterate, suppress mastery and a focused amulet, it is possible to get up to +44% (+40% if Scion) on top of the base 50% from suppress.
I am permanently (compared to conditional tattoos from last league) taking 94% less damage from all sources of suppressed spell damage hits as long as I am on full energy shield, which I am from using EB and having 0 mana costs. Combine this with other layers of mitigation and I'm pretty tanky (though not necessarily as tanky as an armorstacker or Pathfinder). I still am weak to degens, most notably Shaper beam and Venarius puddles.
As for skill choice. I settled on Explosive Trap because I personally think it is an underplayed skill that has excellent damage numbers and scales extremely well with gem levels (level 32 ET has an extra explosion per trap) which is a really nice bonus from my focused amulet.
Explosive Trap is commonly used as a bosser but I wanted to make it comfy to do most content without any gem swaps because I'm extremely lazy with any sort of gear swapping, so I had to tackle the problem of it having pretty lackluster clear without Swift Assembly.
I decided to use Mines as this would double dip on Swift Assembly's bonuses, and also gives a nice 20% life regen from Saboteur which is pretty nice considering trap/mine builds cannot leech or use LGOH. To supplement the recovery, I have Bloodnotch and Immutable Force as well (note: caster mastery does not work with trap/mine skills).
Overall pretty happy with how the build turned out. It's no Penance Brand level of damage or armorstacker level of tanky but I enjoyed this build and learnt some stuff, like what skills cannot be suppressed, how annoying it is to scale ailments (honestly, why bother with ailments, just go Impossible Sin and use wither) and how unreliable it is to rely on Taste of Hate for 100% phys taken as due to tormented spirits. It certainly should be possible to make a ridiculously tanky life-based Scion aurastacker with 90% suppress prevention, much better damage and recovery.
Thanks to Edea and coolwhit for sponsoring this build!
