Getting to 90% max res is, as most of you probably know, incredibly powerful. After the de-facto removal of aurastackers (technically still possible to a tiny extend, but just not what once was :/ ) I wanted to try getting as tanky as possible again this league, as "Melding of the Flesh" allows you to get 90% all max res incredibly easily.
So, I built an occultist using aegis aurora, lvl 23 purity of ice, divine shield and glancing blows, and the new maximum resistance implicit on chest to get to 90% maxmimum resistance, while also using ci, and having a reasonable amount of 60k armor. It ended up incredibly strong.

In this video, I am discussing how to get 90 max res, how to fix your physical mitigation, and how to do it without mageblood. I have, and use, a mageblood and the first 4:30 of the video are me tanking a speedy "the hidden" invitation. The nr. 1 and nr. 2 guys on the solo delve ladder are both also using melding of the flesh to get tanky, one as pathfinder stacking maximum lightning with small clusters (using wizardry notable) and the other pretty much the same way I am doing with aegis aurora, chest implicit, and purity of ice. (his profile is hidden but he is a friend of mine) I talk about what those two are doing as well.
Here is a pob of my defensively well setup, but offensively giga scuffed coc forbidden rite occy. I just ran out of money, have a shitty 88% crit rate on cyclone, and could not even afford woke void manipulation, so there is a LOT to do to fix it offensively, but defensively, its incredible, maybe the tankiest char I have played since delirium aurastacker:
I think with some levels and gear I can get to like 15-20 mil, maybe I can get the elementalist "all damage can shock" notable for even more damage, too. still gotta work out what i want between bottled faith, dying sun, greater volley, concentrated effect, and increased critical damage.
by switching out my helmet and belt and just adding in flagellant flasks i lose a lot of damage, but stay at 60k armor, but also lose like 1.9k es, so if any of you can come up with a good way to mitigate that es loss from not using the crown of the inward eye, i would be interested, as I really think this works just fine without mageblood, although mageblood takes it to the next level, obviously, as one flask suffix completely negates the melding downside.
Some words of warning:
CoC might not be the way to go, self casting using nebulis might be the better option, but I wanted to try CoC
My CoC Setup is giga scuffed, and this build has mageblood, but if you use flasks with "flagelant" prefix and "use when charges are full" enchant mageblood can be replaced and you will still be incredibly tanky
it is still a very expensive build, even without mageblood; without mageblood, self cast is also almost guaranteed to be better, as capping crit gets VERY difficult.
aegis aurora is absolutely insane. so is divine shield. but neither work against degens, so get the burning ground pantheon and consider using a bleedflask or sth, degen is the only thing I have almost died to (and one phoenix explosion, when my molten shell was not up and i was fully degened)
-max res is still horrible to roll on maps, so is reduced aura effect

if you have any suggestions on how to make this build tankier, or if I am missing some super obvious way to improve this build even further, please comment :D
