tldr: molten shell go boom for ~2M dps, generally invincible, and maximum jank
I discovered an interesting interaction with Power of Purpose (PoP) awhile back, namely that any "Gain maximum mana as extra maximum energy shield" modifiers actually use the pre-conversion maximum mana (verified in game). This means mana stacking gives us both armour and energy shield. However, I couldn't figure out how to get reasonable damage out of the build... until this patch!
The core of the build is to stack mana to get over 50k armour, to make maximum use of Molten Shell. Molten shell gets popped by attacking with Boneshatter, which should take only a few hits once the Trauma stacks ramp up. In my PoB, molten shell hits for 8M average damage unflasked (Divergent Molten Shell in Crest of Desire, since very few supports work with Molten Shell), which should happen every 4-5 seconds, so we get ~2M dps with molten shell alone. Molten shell, high armour, and endurance charges should completely mitigate the self damage of Boneshatter (to be tested in game).
I go hierophant for the mana as ES, and Transfiguration of mind. Since I have a pretty decent amount of ES, it's a no brainer to go CI and Aegis Aurora.
Other perks of the build:
- Gain frenzy and endurance charges when hit, which means max charges all the time
- Medium cwdt with ice/shock nova for EE, trash clear, and ES leech
- Incidentally getting a lot of mana regen so cwdt mana costs aren't an issue
- Max block Aegis Aurora (glancing blows) means I should be invincible in packs
- Super super cheap I think (minus the watcher's eye)
