So after my initial disappointment with the tier 5 Bama node, I still felt there was huge potential and many cool Crucible nodes on bows for my clone friends. I knew I had to make atleast one Bama build this league but did no want to replay to elemental version from last league.

Anyway, by accident and simply because I was curious I plugged my clones into a Dom Blow Crit Impale PoB which I prepped before the league to see whats possible and to my surprise achieved pretty good dps numbers per clone. After alot of finetuning I think I have finally unlocked the potential of the pure Phys Impale Bama. We have a new Bama archetype to play now and not just because of Crucible. Even if you take away all the Crucible nodes from the Bow, Impale Phys will still outperform the elemental BAMAs from previous leagues while beeing on a 5 link (according to PoB).

Now, for Phys Impale a few changes needed to happen. First, Scion isn't that hot for phys minions. Champion on the other hand has everything that we need. Aura Effect for Impale scaling and defense, Fortify to beef up and some smaller goodies like attack speed and Master of Metal, which while not huge, is still extra damage. Pair that with the good pathing and extra Dexterity on the way and you have a new Bama build.

Normally Bamas would use a double 6-link. Phys Impale, as it turns out, has so much damage that you can easily run it as a 5-link with both clones in the bow. This opens up sockets for support minions like Carrion Golem or Spectres, extra Auras like Precision and more. We can use a Bone Ring instead of the Hungry Loop, which helps with the suffix pressure and drop the Hungry Loop, which was commonly used in past BAMAs.

The 5 link setup has alot of benefits. The clones are cheaper (60 mana vs 80). You can support both clones at the same time with GMP which increases clear without having to micro manage and gem swap two setups. This is especially important now, because Anomalous Faster Projectiles is absolutely cracked on BAMA. Corrupted for extra quality, it will give the clones a 69% (nice) chance to have their projectiles return to them, which is not only ~69% more damage on average but increases the quality of the clear and gameplay drastically.

For defenses I am running Determ/Grace/Dread Banner + Divine Flesh + capped Spell Supp + Champion Fortify + 2 Endu Charges. This is probably the tankiest Bama I have played in a long time. Grace + the screenwide Accuracy reduction from Dread Banner gives me ~1.2m ehp against attacks. Coupled with Divine Flesh + Fortify you can take some serious hits.
