About 3 leagues ago, I put up this post for blade blast of unloading (BBoU). Since then, it has received a few nice buffs, mainly in this patch:

+4% flat crit chance

80->100% more AoE per detonated blade

Like Clockwork went from 30->50% inc. cdr somewhere along the way too

These come out to a freed up support gem in critical strikes, as well as some extra AoE that could free up another support gem (it comes out to ~20% more AoE at 8 blades I think? will have to see how it plays out). The increased cdr might make it easier to reach some CoC breakpoints too. Basically 20-50% more damage.

A few notes:

>This build relies on numlock trick to work (see original post), so it wont work on consoles.

>Some versions use kintsugi for defenses. It works here because of high evasion, but might not be the preferred playstyle for some, feel free to run rare body armour.

edit: numlock trick in short: if you bind a key to a numpad key, lock the numlock, hold down said key, then unlock the numlock while its held down, the key will be repeatedly pressed off cooldown.
