Fishing for ignites with 5% explodey chance can feel kinda bad when there is only one target. You can just go afk in theory though. If you're still awake after phase one, you can see a rather quick phase two though.

Decided to drop the staves and go sceptre/RotP for extra defenses. Shield provides like 150-250 flat regen depending on roll, block (which also stuns you) and can get %phys as fire (or lightning, just don't do cold) implicit, getting me to 81% - leaving me at only 9% taken as phys. Protection Mastery fixes poisons and Watchers Eye makes me ignore bleeds. If you don't want to ever die, drop the greatwolf for Defiance of Destiny or don't click extra cold damage altars (or spend a fortune on a quant/cold as fire greatwolf).
