Some background, this is standard but i play it mostly as SSF. I know what wardloop is from videos, with low-duration summon skeletons and To Dust, and ever since i've wanted to make one myself.
I used all the free passive respecs that come with new leagues on all my characters, testing stuff.
I gathered a bunch of To Dust, enough to get like .5s duration. I Got as much recoup as i could and covered the rest with regen, but i was way too squishy and not looping fast enough. I had the idea to loop multiple minion summons independently, but kinda just forgot about it.
Until I saw a guy sharing a looping build with SRS. That was it, that was all it took, and I was determined to figure out the rest myself. I saw I was getting fewer SRS than expected, realized it was because of server tickrate, calculated the actual cooldown in server ticks, adjusted my selfcast SRS cast time, successfully reached the maximum SRS for my cooldown and duration.
I took it into a level 33 labyrinth, failed miserably. I was really confused, I had Blessed Rebirth. It took me at least a day to realize killing mobs was giving flask charges, which triggers my granite flask, which reduces my damage taken, messing up the loop.
Now, after all this time, the proof of concept is finally finished. Not the build, no, the proof of concept. There is still more thinking and theorizing left to do. Could i have just followed a guide? Yes. But then i would have missed out on all this discovery.
This is why i love this game.
