A few notes:
If you don't like Eye of Winter you can use Freezing Pulse instead. I just like what Eye of Winter feels like.
No jewel sockets because SSF. Tree can be tweaked a bit to grab some sockets if you happen to find any jewels worth running.
Like I mentioned, there's no required gear. I don't have any gear in the POB besides flasks and a shield. The only two things that are arguably "required" are a pair of rare gloves with the Eater of Worlds implicit "apply cold exposure on hit" (very easy to roll), and a Shaper shield with "+1 to maximum number of summoned totems." Should be easy enough to craft with a Shaper base and some alterations.
Other items that would be massive boosts to the build are Soul Mantle (gamble Spidersilk Robes with Gwennen), Viridi's Veil (Maven, socket your auras in here if you get one), Ashes of the Stars (Eater of Worlds, good luck), and Replica Soul Tether (grand heists, good luck). None are required though. On rare gear try to get general cold damage stuff and +1 to cold gems.
You need to either have eldritch battery (which is included on the tree) or corrupted soul in order for Mind over Matter to function properly. Your only access to corrupted soul in this build is from replica soul tether, which only comes from grand heists. You can not use a Glorious Vanity jewel or you will lose pain attunement. Replica Soul Tether will be very hard to get in SSF. I'm not personally going to bother trying to find one, but if you do find one, you can drop the three passives that lead up to Eldritch Battery and put three points into the "Arcane Capacitor" wheel instead.
If you do get corrupted soul via Replica Soul Tether, you will likely have to unreserve some of your mana, or get extra mana on your gear. Without eldritch battery, you will need a minimum of 511 unreserved mana to cast your blessing.
Unsure if Discipline is worth reserving. You can play around with it, and if you feel like you don't need that extra ES, reserve Tempest Shield instead
This POB says you only have 27% unreserved life. This won't be true once you get some life rolls on your gear. Our life reservations are vitality and clarity, which are both flat life reservations, so boosting your max life will make them reserve less as an overall percentage. Your goal is to reserve 50-51% of your max life to make sure pain attunement is always active. Play around with the vitality/clarity gem levels to make sure you stay at that percentage.
Molten Shell will trigger on its own, Vaal Molten Shell can be used manually for extra defense on demand. Divine Blessing Hatred is used on pinnacle bosses every ~11 seconds for a big damage boost.
Eye of Winter/Ice Spear gem swap. Eye of Winter for maps and map bosses. Ice Spear should only be necessary for pinnacle bosses.
If you manage to get decent crit chance on your gear and a Diamond Flask, you can drop the increased critical strikes support for elemental penetration. ICS Support is assuming you don't have access to enough crit chance otherwise.
Vortex goes on your left click. Place it under bosses to apply chill and exposure for big damage boosts.
