Flicker Strike of Power: Going Eblade with a 7% base crit lets me scale crit with power charges. The 1.7aps also beats out Ephemeral. The big draw back of lower ES starts to matter less when you can break 20k ES with energy blade up. At 7 Power Charges I easily cap crit chance with assassin's mark.

Defenses: I went with the Sublime Vision Purity of Fire tech to relieve a lot of suffix pressure and let me take full advantage of Arctic Armour. While flickering you count as stationary so this has a huge uptime and is basically 25% less damage taken. This gives a huge 271k max ele hit. Max Phys is only 38k this is more than enough to tank an Uber Shaper slam.

Recovery: The Armour/ES Mastery combined with a reflected ring, means any time I get hit I regen 1k es/sec. (Unsure if this stacks or not) I also have a normal 1k energy shield regen via Zealot's oath, and 4.6k ES recharge after wicked ward. Instant leech brings my recovery up to the moon. I can afk in most maps surrounded by monsters and come back just fine.

Map Mods: I can run just about any map mod. For t16s the monsters steal charges mod can be annoying but won't brick the map. For t17s I could run any mod if forced, but I avoid the no damage 4/10 seconds, and the no charges mod, but I think they took out that one anyway. Less defenses is sketchy but doable without other bad mods.

This isn't a build guide or anything, but I'll answer any questions as best I can. I just thought it might be fun to go for a version of Flicker I haven't really seen get much use. I have the build in what I think is a really great place. I'll probably keep tweaking the build and working on upgrades for a while.

Background: I started my 2nd char aiming to use the cold damage per Es bow mod. When I found I couldn't scale the damage well at a mid budget I transitioned to Flicker strike with Ephemeral Edge. Built up my currency, tried wands, bow again, and other skills but kept going back to flicker. After minmaxing the build for a while I started wondering why the resolute corruption on the edge was so good, it only saved us a few points on the tree, and crits are strong right? This eventually lead me down a rabbit hole that ended where I am now.
