I'm sharing this here because I think it's a good starter build and really beginner friendly.

This was my starter for Betrayal and I had a really smooth leveling experience and early mapping with zero investment in gear. I even skipped the Tabula this time because the damage felt just right on a 4L until T6-7.

Good unique items to pick : Martyr of Innocence, Berek's Grip, Carcass Jack. You can use Malachai's Artifice with a Lightning golem socketed in if you feel the need for even more damage on bosses.

It may not be the most optimal setup for this build because I had in mind to save money for my next build so I would be happy to discuss about how to improve the build here :)

Damage was really not accurate at all, PoB doesn't take in account th 50% more Damage to Branded enemies that is on the gem...
