Hi exiles,

I usually go for off-meta builds, this league I kicked things off with a Self-Attack Poison Scourge Arrow setup using Darkscorn. After hitting level 100, mapping started to feel dull, and I wasn’t in the mood to hop on the Mamba train, so I switched things up with a Glacial Hammer Slayer to finish off challenges.

Glacial Hammer of Shattering is one of those skills without built-in clear speed, but it hits incredibly hard. It likely has the highest damage effectiveness after Vigilant Strike and converts all physical damage to cold.

There’s nothing particularly special about this build, hitting 20–30M DPS is very doable even without Mageblood. The Wine of the Prophet was just for fun; for bosses I usually use a tincture, and a cheap Oriath’s End is far better for clearing.

Items

Until I crafted my staff with a Recombinator, just a 1 divine physical/attack speed Cane of Kulemak carried me up to around level 94. I was using double Taming rings, which really boost damage when paired with Yoke, since I consistently have at least 5-6 elemental ailments up. Plus, the conditional boss freezes kick in pretty often, and the freeze mastery that makes enemies take 5% increased damage per freeze is insanely good.

If you can fit in Heatshiver, that’s an easy extra 20% damage. But personally, I prefer the comfort of Eldritch implicits and spell suppression on the helmet.

Mercenary

The Yoke of Suffering scaling comes from my Kineticist Mercenary and us, her damage isn't relevant as long as she’s hitting consistently with Painseeker gloves. She has the Leadership price with two equal stats, so she can inflict Sap, Brittle, and Scorch (not too concerned about the effectiveness). On top of that, she applies Poison via her wand and runs double curses: Elemental Weakness and Frostbite. With Yoke we have Freeze, Chill, Shock. Total of 7 ailments, can be further pushed by adding Bleed to mercenary I was just lazy so left it there.

Charges:

Charges are pretty much up 100% of the time:

  • Power Charges come from Assassin's Mark +extra crit multiplier.

  • Frenzy Charges are covered by Mark Mastery against bosses and/or Blood Rage.

  • Endurance Charges are maintained through Enduring Composure and my Mercenary using Replica Victario’s Charity.

Auras:

Hatred, Determination, Herald of Ash, Precision, Flesh and Stone

Can replace Flesh and Stone for Herald of Ice, and running Ice instead of of Ash will give you better clear. But Herald of Ash is more damage since physical as extra fire is too good to pass. and can do herald of purity too but clear will be worse. You can mix and match pretty much everything here, honestly, the only thing that feels truly non-negotiable is Hatred. +Mercenary gives Haste with extra Aura AOE anoint.

The standard Elemental Defense Melding of the Flesh setup provides 86/86/86/75 resistances plus 100% suppression. This is the ideal endgame configuration, but it’s not necessary until you start tackling tougher content.

Note:

Glacial Hammer scales insanely well with gem levels, so Admiral's Arrogance is a no-brainer, especially with a one-point Rage source. Thanks to the fast hits, you get nearly 100% uptime at 30/30 Rage. For context, level 20 Glacial Hammer has 622.6% damage effectiveness, while level 24 jumps to 766.7%. If you're using a physical weapon with any added damage, that's already a huge DPS boost.

With 26K armour and 5–6K evasion, mapping feels super comfy, I’m basically unkillable unless the juice gets really extreme. The build can handle all types of reflect (Slayer's bane of legends + Awakened Elemental gem), but I usually skip them just to keep my Mercenary alive.

Of course, it’s not as tanky as a CwS Chieftain or a one trick pony Trickster with Energy Shield scaling, nor does it clear as fast as an Elemental Hit Spectrum, but overall, it’s a solid all-rounder.

Biased TLDR; opinion:

Mapping: 8/10

Bossing: 8/10

Fun: 10/10
