Legacy of Phrecia is GGG trying out a bunch of past experiments they decided against using in POE1. New Ascendancies, new Atlas endgame progression and more.

Here's a wild build idea I had. It uses a fishing rod unironically. (Fishing Rods are immune to most specialised crafts but can be crafted with classic orbs like alterations/chaos/exalts/etc)

Automatic crits on level 29 Herald of Ice (can shock and freeze, can self-proliferate), automatic crits on level 29 Herald of Thunder (can freeze, can't self-proliferate but we do have one of the ring for it), auto crit and double damage on 29/60 Crackling Lance.

Fair warning: this is SQUISHY. Less so than the ultra low EHP indicates (it's good at freezing) but ... you might consider cast on death portal. It's a meme build, but also not a terrible one. I'm confident I can get pinnacles with it, but not uber pinnacles.

Levelling notes: This isn't really levelling optimized and is more a 'swap into this at 93' type setup... although it's likely possible to level with Crackling Lance (or Arc) and Orb of Storms and Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice. Fishing rod parts come LAST.

Ascendancy order: Ghost first, conversion second, whichever of Sea Legs, retalliatory freeze and better chills helps most 3rd, your second choice 4th, then respec to fishing rods once you have Crest of Desire, a good chestpiece (Pragmatism/Skin/other), and a rod.

Circle of Ambition? If you see a sublime one trade for it but less than 0.2% of them are exactly what I want (3 mods chosen from damage% while using HoI, damage% while using HoT, resist X element while using specific herald). 1 in 115 of the rings have the two damage mods plus a dead mod; you might use that but it's only a bit better than The Taming

Gloves. The glove implicit is REALLY GOOD.

A good idea someone pointed out in the premiere: Grace watchers' eye and Wind Dancer can cap evasion. Thanks, CantripN, for the tip.
