Introduction:
Hello friends, I wanted to share my personal best build from Crucible, my Purifying Flame Pathfinder Miner.
I’ve always liked Purifying Flame as a skill but was put off from playing it because it has a terrible base cast speed of 0.7s and requires you to be a little precise with aiming of the skill. Mines solve both of those issues since mine throwing speed is independent of the skill cast time and mines auto target enemies for you.
Crucible introduced a fun weapon passive skill that causes the skill to be converted to Chaos and create Profane Ground which I thought could synergize well with the new Pathfinder rework. The rest is history.
This isn’t a full build guide but happy to answer any questions in the comments.
Pros:
- Good balance of both offense and defense with nice life recovery, capable of clearing Uber bosses fairly smoothly
- Above average mapping clear speed, at least by my standards
- Non-meta :)
Cons:
- Can be clunky applying 2 curses, activating zealotry and withering step during boss fights
- You need to press your life flask repeatedly. I got used to it but I can see why some people wouldn’t like it.
- The Chaos conversion version of this build won’t exist in future leagues since Crucible isn’t going core. However, I still think the build can function if it was only fire damage and used an Alternating Sceptre to get Secrets of Suffering.
- Build can clear wave 30 Simulacrum but there are better builds out there for that
Misc:
*Coward’s legacy enables us to be permanently low life which lets you get Pain Attunement for %more damage but more importantly we can roll a life flask with “% more Recovery if used while on Low Life” which really pumps up our life recovery. Downside of the belt is negated by equipping Atziri’s reflection which is not that expensive of a shield anymore.
*Circle of Anguish rings are extremely powerful for Purifying Flame because Herald of Ash provides us a huge damage bonus from both the %more spell fire damage as well as the phys as extra fire damage
- Physical damage is mitigated by converting most of it to elemental via Lightning Coil, Taste of Hate, helm craft + implicit
- I use Petrified Blood without any large life reservation to get increased EHP since permanent life flasks allows me to stay at Full HP negating the downside of Petrified Blood
- I use a Hallowed Life flask because it requires significantly less charges to maintain than a Divine Life Flask and lasts a bit longer requiring less button presses to keep up.
