VulturePR0's Notes
Hey everyone i just wanted to share a build Ive been working on. A Periphery Herald Stacker Spirit Walker using Frenzy charges and Spiral Volley to chain Heralds and clear the screen.
Periphery was a interesting unique and after i saw it in the league preview i knew i was gonna make a build with it eventually. Much like everyone else i was initially drawn to the azmerian swarm skill on the bow, however like Zizaran, i found the swarms to be lacking. The AI for them is bad and they dont really do any damage, however they do have the fairie fire on hit (more on this later). Additionally there is an interesting stat on the bow itself "Elemental Damage from Hits Contributes to Flammability, Ignite, and Chill Magnitudes, Freeze Buildup, and Shock Chance" so i thought what if i used Coming Calamity to with tri elemental damage to trigger the Heralds and it turns out it functions pretty well and its very satisfying to get those heralds procs.
Build Explanation:
We use Spiral Volley as the main skill simply because when used with frenzy charges you get 100% more damage + 30% MORE damage per frenzy consumed + 1 chain when a frenzy charge is consumed. Dominus Grasp and Richochet 2 help with clear as well since our arrows can chain thru packs and off walls
We stack as much flat elemental damage as our budget will allow since ANY elemental damage will help us stack ailments to trigger our heralds.
For the Ascendancy we take all 3 spirit companions + Sacred Unity and Morrigan's Guidance for the final 2, this gives us extra proj from owl, tank from bear (with requital) and shock + mana (below) from the deer
For Mana sustain we need "Leech Physical Attack Damage as mana" and Osins Oath on Vivid Stampede, since the stampede hits after pretty much every attack you get a steady supply of mana this way
Single Target i have been using Ice Shot + Snipe (as pretty much every bow build is) because of its nuke potential, with a bonus since Periphery lets us get a big ignite if we fail to 1 shot the boss, Single target is also pretty much the only usefulness of the azmerian swarm since 10 stacks of farie fire gives us 20% of damage as extra random elemental (max 10 stacks @ 2% each). Single Target damage is admittedly pretty poor for the most part. it requires getting a freeze then sniping and hoping it one shots.
To generate Frenzy charges ive been using a combination of Combat Frenzy, Thamaturgical Dynamism (anoint) and Valako's Roar. Sustain is mainly due to chance to not consume at around 45% + gain additional frenzy. If you find yourself with out frenzy charges i would use Ice shot between packs for the few seconds you are without frenzy since Spiral volley pretty much needs them to do damage.
FAQ:
Where Rakiata's?:
I dont run one because Coming Calamity sets enemy resistance to 0 in your presence so it kinda loses its value in close range, you could run it and just play around your presence radius but i dont feel like its needed
Why do you have so many supports on default attacks?
you need to balance support gems to ensure Thamaturgical Dynamism chooses Frenzy charges MOST of the time; green = good
Couldn't you just run Ice shot all the time?
Yes, i run spiral volley because I think it's neat
If you have any tips for improvement let me know always open to new ideas or trying different things. Currently in the process of trying to fit Crit into the build
Inb4 Mageblood, you dont need it but it enhances every aspect of the build
