Recently there was a post either on main sub or this sub where ventrua was showcasing that potential starters have generally low disparity and more things than we previously thought are competitive. Especially his take on LA deadeye with Determination stood out to me and I wanted to make a character based on that.
Why/how this works:
you dont need insane amounts of armour to mitigate small hits very well, especially with small amounts of phys taken as elemental, endurance charges and enduring cry
You dont need insane amounts of evasion to evade 80+% of attacks, if you pair it with blind and dread banner
new call to arms allows us to automate enduring cry and use cwdt immortal call as a massive defensive tool (cwdt guard skill has historically had good synergy with ranged chars because you get hit so little)
offensive scaling for bows tends to hit a soft wall around 110 points invested where there are few good nodes to take anymore if we disregard clusters and lioneyes fall (wouldnt want to put a potential 5div jewel and 3div cluster in a starter build) so its not so bad to divert some of those points in blind, the 6 pointer hybrid eva/ar wheel, reservation efficiency, etc.
Overall we hit 30k max hit without guard skill up and 40k with guard skill up, 11/21k phys max hit in both circumstances and 18k/24k ele max hit (which could be better but apart from supression the resources are limited here).
The manaforged setup is personal preference btw, could be ballista or even 6l with barrage or something but while testing this setup generally performed pretty well.
