Hey everybody, I'm leaguestarting now and wanted to share my build idea. We've all seen fire cyclone staff chieftains and it's a very solid meta build right now. I was thinking of playing it and figured out a way to play it as a guardian that I think has some strong advantages over chieftain, and chieftain lost a couple of previously unique things like easy fire conversion and cover in ash. I believe this is a novel idea since there are zero cyclone guardians on poe.ninja in trade SC right now (not counting summoners) https://poe.ninja/challenge/builds?class=Guardian&skill=Cyclone.
Notes for POB: this is a low-medium budget pob. The staff is 600 pdps, which is like 3ex or so. It uses a glorious vanity so that's 1ex. The chest is probably 1ex without links, but everything else is fairly cheap. I haven't put any flasks on since I plan builds assuming worst-case, which is you've run out of flask charges mid-boss fight. I also don't have a watchers eye equipped. Level 5 woke fire pen will give fire exposure, which is not included in the pob linked.
Almost all of the gear is just basic life/res rares, so you'll have way more suffixes than you need to cap resists. There's lots of options for endgame gear that gives more dps. Make sure to get accuracy rolls on rings since this build gets very little accuracy elsewhere. Tune your life reservation by leveling precision until you reserve just shy of 50% life. This means your leech does not turn off when you hit 50% life, giving you overleech kinda like how slayer overleech works.
I'm going to be playing this in trade SC, but it should work fine in SSF or HC. The only uniques are abyssus and glorious vanity, both of which aren't too bad to get in SSF. I'd probably drop the abyssus for an influenced nearby enemies take more fire damage helmet in HC though. Phys hit damage is not a concern on this build even with abyssus (50% phys reduction after abyssus against 10k phys hit), but phys dots are kinda spooky. Make sure to grab a corrupted blood implicit jewel.
Anyways, let me know what you think.
