Can replace Volatile Dead with Detonate Dead freely. Main links: Attack of choice - Cast on Crit - VD or DD - Desecrate - Inc. Crit strikes

Then add any damage support of choice: Spell cascade, Fire pen, Combustion, Ele focus, Controlled destruction ... For poet's pen version, replace desecrate by another support gem

Budget options: Quill rain + tabula (or at least 5L) Leech from Atziri's promise Oskarm gloves/Mark of submission for Assassin's mark Zealotry or Anger instead of Vitality and Skitterbots

Current gear value estimate: 5-10ex Most of which is in body armour + watcher's eye, neither being necessary.
