Short answer: Baranite Preachers
I´ve noticed that the community consider spectres dead atm. To help those of you that want to play spectres i have some information. Spectres in the form of baranite preachers is alive and kicking all others are mediocre at best. The reason is their base crit of 30%. With zealotry and 100% crit in the tree my build gets 100% crit which makes critdamage godly. In less auraeffectoriented setups a low level precision takes them the last 10% or so to 100% crit.
I submit a pob for my aurabuild which is awesome for allroundplay:

This is a very complicated and expensive build but alot of ppl have old aurastacking gear lying around on standard.
Classic LL shav, chayula, prism guardian will kick ass for very little investment. Pob from a friend of mine as example of LL build: https://pastebin.com/WbdFnpnz
Kay Gaming life build: PoE 3.15 - 100% Crit Chance Baranite Preachers - Pure Spectres - YouTube
With my setup fully juiced delirium lvl 16 maps and delirium to wave 30 is a breeze and nothing in the game is a problem so clearly spectres are alive :D
Guardian with the axe is a must have in any setup since it gives 50% critdamage.
Important note: preachers damage does not work in pob whoever made the community fork addition botched it somehow but u can compare auras/supports etc to eachother within the pitiful damagerange.
Do NOT use GMP or any extra projectile support. Most if not all the clear comes from their aoe spell and ball lightning doesnt shotgun or overlap in any way. Also ball lightning will cover the entire screen with GMP and ruin gameplay. Just DON`T :D even if u really really want to. Convocate is your best friend and likes short CD so if you lower it 40% in the tree and use Ashes of the stars amulet it lands on 1.55 seconds which is fine.
