Tincture and bottled faith weren't use for the minotaur and he was still melted way before vaal cyclone ended.
TLDR : around 6.7mil PoB DPS, 11mil with vaal cyclone. Amazing mapper, Elusive makes you zoom quickly. Single target is good (insta kill rare and map boss) but not enough for T17/Ubers. Tankyness is really good for mapping, less for bossing. Medium budget for another fun take on cyclone.
Concept : Without tincture and bottled faith Pob gives me 7mil dps on normal cyclone, 11mil on vaal. With them its 12mil but inflated by the brutal charges which we don't sustain on bosses.
- Defense : 8/10 With Slayer we get around 8 endurance charge perma. Svallinn makes our block at around 80%. Flesh and stone gives additonal dmg reduction. Since we use a lot of uniques we use purity of elements which conveniently give us ailment immunity. You get 60k armor with basalt flask up (with iron reflexes). Slayer leech makes you regen instant and elusive gives you a good chance of damage avoidance. You deal aoe cold damage so everything gets frozen which makes an additional defense layer. Overall it's pretty great, the biggest weakness is dot damage and bosses with phases where you can't leech. So you're almost immortal for the mapping part but die quickly while fighting bosses. Evasion scaling might be better idk.
- Mapping : 9/10 Spin to win at 80% increased ms, mana cost is low enough to keep spinning for around 5s without mobs to leech and if need you have whirlwing blade to cross the map at the speed of light. Feels amazing.
- Single target : 7/10 Base single target is ok but Tincture + Bottled Faith + Vaal Cyclone + Rage makes it really good for everything outside of ubers/T17 bosses. You just pop vaal cyclone and boss is gone.
- Pinnacle/invitation : Can do them all fairly easily. Maven is trickier as a melee which rely on leech but it's fine.
- Simulacrum - Deathless until wave 12, failed at wave 14 --> Stun Immunity and capped chaos res will probably be enough to go 15/15 but it might not still be deathless, damage felt fine all the way though, you just pop vaal cyclone on cd.
- T17 : Mapping part is extremely smooth, you can do most map mods, however the bossing part is hard. You don't have enough dmg to phase them and you are not tanky enough to facetank the mechanics so its doable but tricky and not comfortable.
- Uber Bosses : Didn't try and honestly would be pretty bad outside of Cortex and Shaper I'm pretty sure.
Potential upgrades :
- The best would be +1 Frenzy charge ring + kalandra ring + 1 frenzy charge implicit shield + more than skill forbidden jewels to still get lucky block. Mageblood would also allow to forego some suffixes needed for res and instead go for suppresision cap. The additional 3 frenzy/endurance charge + spell suppress would put the build in another dimension and make it able to do all content but then it would cost upward of a mirror, and what build wouldn' be great with a mirror investment...
- The most realistic path would be to replace maven belt with something that gives more tankyness/utility. You are at full brutal charges when mapping but when facing a boss with no ads it struggle to get charges so it's not that valuable. Chest implicit + charge duration mastery would be an option but it would means giving up a lot of passive dps while mapping to get a little bit better bossing, but this build is structurally not a bosser so idk about that.
- Svalinn is amazing for the defense it provides but I couldn't find a great use of the elemental trigger, detonate dead rarely proc as herald of ice shatter everything. Sigil of power is ok.
- Claw to get life on hit implicit, but prices of claw are super expensive and the additional crit implicit from dagger is useful anyway.
- Source of intimidation, brittle and onslaught would be great. Some options are available on the tree but i'm starved for skill points.
Budget Needed :
Rares i put the awakened poe trade price but it's cheaper if you craft yourself the rares :
- Rare ring 1 div x 2 = 2 div
- 3k armor/evasion chest with additional phys reduction = 10div
- Power Charge implicit devoto devotion = 1 div
- Ralakesh = 2div
- Dagger = idk around 20div maybe ? Cost me around 12div to craft but the build should work fine with a worse weapon as long as you can craft hits can't be evaded.
- Maven belt = 40c
- Svalinn = 50c
- Tincture = 20c
- Aul amulet determination (could be purity of elements also) = 3div
- Watcher eye : 13div atm
- Light of meaning Cold dmg = 1div
- Lethal pride = 2div
- Awakened elemental damage = 5 div
- Enlighten 3 = 1div
- Bottled Faith = 7div
- Frenzy implicit Gloves = 1div
- Clusters = 3div
Total = around 70div, I already had a lot of this stuff from other characters and crafted most rare myself so for me it cost me rather around 50div. Build can be started fine with only ralakesh + 2div dagger + enlighten + Aul amulet so around 8div starting budget.
Overall thoughts :
Pretty proud, I stumbled by accident upon the elusive+cyclone combo (wanted to use cold dagger so I could pivot to frostblade of katabasis if the build sucked) but it synergize so well with cyclone. The build excel at t16mapping, reached 400depth delve easily for the challenge and did some juiced deli/breach smoothly. Overall amazing but cyclone is not the greatest skill (if you replace it with frostblade of katabasis you immediately get +2m damage without any changes...) and the classic shockwave scaling might be better but i's a fun tanky alternative that might be pushed further with bigger investment.
I'm not sure I want to invest further into the build but I wanted to make a homecooked smooth t16 mapper and it went way better than expected. I'm sure there are a lot of things to correct/improve as it's only my second homemade build so if you have any suggestion**/**question I'd be very happy to listen !
