Merry christmas exiles, this is my frost blades of katabasis trickster. I made this character the second day of the league, but unfortunatly there was a day 1 bug where things that died to the DoT of the skill did not count as your kills. So no exp, flask charges, or on death effects like polymath. Thankfully it has been fixed and the skill is now usable.

The toon has about 3-4m DPS and is a trickster so it is immortal. Mapping is smooth, but as you can see bossing leaves a bit to be desired. The goal of the character was to be an ultimatum farmer, so I built it to ignore as many ultimatum mods as possible. Im abusing the oath of the magi to double my body armours defenses, which works with tricksters escape artist, and am using a cull tincture with cover enemies in frost. I dont know if you can get better defenses or offense through charms just because of how odd the skill is.

Frostblades of Katabasis is honestly just a wierd fuckin skill. Its a cold DoT that doesnt scale with spell damage, and its an attack skill that does not scale with attack damage. You need attack speed for it to feel good even though it does not scale damage, and you also need accuracy for it to feel good even though you only have to hit the enemy once to kill them.

And the damage scaling is kinda hard, there are literally only 5 things you can scale its damage with

• % damage (Cold damage/Elemental damage/increased damage over time)
• DoT Multi (generic/cold dot multi)
• lowering enemy res
• Elemental damage with attack skills (basically anything coded to also scale ignite) generic attack damage will not scale the damage as the degen pool is not considered attack damage.
• and finally gem levels

You cannot use elemental overload(hits or ailments only) or precise technique (attack damage only) and i didnt do enough testing with it but I do not believe crown of eyes works either.

Luckily the base damage of the skill gem is fantastic, it does about 20% more DoT damage across the board than creeping frost. My frost blades is currently sitting at level 30 and has a gem base Dot of 10667 damage per second.

I believe I've pushed it damage wise as far as I can on a reasonable budget while maintaining good defense, and even though the bossing dps isnt amazing its extremely comfy to just drop a degen ground under the boss and then go fuck off while he dies. The mapping is buttery smooth and it handles most mechanics with ease.
