Fundamentals:
1. This build stacks endurance charges. There are certainly multiple ways to go about this build that I'm looking forward to exploring, but this one is mainly focused around
endurance charges and what they bring to the table. I will go over those shortly.
2. This build relies heavily on proper cooldowns and action speed. Do not go overboard on attack speed, don't add frenzy charges, etc if you DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. I'm tired of
getting pms saying "tHiS bUiLd dOeSn'T wOrK" and then finding a heck ton of frenzy charges and increased attack speed everywhere.
3. Defenses. I get a lot of "3k hp lol"s. Just a friendly reminder that your HP isn't all that matters. Here are your layers of defense:
Life + ES (naturally)
Life gain on hit (Watchers Eye)
-> Cyclone
-> Wave of Conviction
-> Ball Lightning
-> Commandment of Blades
Life Leech (Flasks. You can also swap out Atziri's for a Life Flask if you want)
ES Leech (Pretty minimal but it's there)
CWDT Immortal Call (Since we stack endurance charges, this gives us ~75% less pysical damage taken when it procs, and less Ele Damage)
Endurance Charges (Natural Phys Mitigation)
Aegis (Our ascendency gives us ~3k Additional HP vs. Elemental Damage that recharges regularly)
Chill & Freeze
Maim on Hit
Blind Aura (from Chestpiece)
Golem Health Regen
Gearing:
Despite its first iteration being built in standard, everything in this build was crafted and obtained in the 3.15 patch of Path of Exile (Expedition League). It uses no legacy crafting methods or gear. If I get enough requests I will probably
make a quick video on how to craft the more complicated pieces, but for now they're all pretty straight forward. That being said, there are a few things on here that are fairly excessive and not necessarily needed to get started.
So, here are some possible replacements:
Precursor's Emblem: This is something I put in the build because I feel like they're underappreciated and I've never used one before.
This is not at all necessary. A warlord's ring with resistances and flat fire per endurance will work fine, but you'll want
to find some reliable quick ways of getting Endurance charges without that chance to max out.
(Warlord Chestpieces can give Endurance Charges every second, and you can get it on a small cluster jewel as well)
Abyss Boots: While these aren't god-tier boots or anything, they can get fairly expensive fairly quickly if you're unlucky, and the +1 endurance charge
base is fairly expensive at any point of a league. I used The Stampede blight unique boots until I made them with an Endurance Charge notable anointed on,
and those worked perfectly fine.
The Staff: The staff is not mirror-worthy by any means, but it can certainly get expensive especially if you're a little unlucky. The base is the important part, and if you can chaos spam it for +2 fire or +2 lightning
with space for crafted crit chances, you'll probably be okay until you get a little more money.
Crit Multi Jewels: I did not use a set of quad crit multi jewels in the filming of the video, and I turned them off in the PoB as well. It's not very realistic to expect most people to get those
and you certainly don't need them for the build to feel good damage-wise. You can start with Doubles for incredibly cheap and the triples aren't that expensive either, simply because
barely anyone uses Fire + Lightning crit multi jewels, so they're a lot cheaper than a lot of others.
FAQ
1. Why don't you anoint Heart or Throatseeker? It's more damage than the endurance charges.
A: The additional Endurance charges give us more defenses and free damage with it, while heart and throatseeker would be more damage, it's less QoL (in my opinion)
2. It feels clunky/trigger rate is off/ I'm not doing damage
A: Feel free to pm with your specific case, but check these first:
1. Is your hit chance 100%? I use blind & effigon for this, so check that first.
2. Is the crit chance for Cyclone at 100%? This is fairly easy to do, a couple of power charges and a diamond flask will do that for you, so double check you have that.
3. Do you have too much action speed or too little CDR? You want to aim for 6.06 APS with no CDR, 7.57 APS with 14% CDR. I have Awakened CoC, if you don't you'll want to look at other sources like Shaper boots,
Hypnotic eye jewels, and Torrents Reclamation. (APS = Attacks per Second, CDR = Increased Cooldown Recovery Rate)
3. Low Life? Cold conversion? Non-Blind?
A: I'm currently exploring these possibilities, but I haven't done it yet. Feel free to try it yourself if you're confident
4. I have a really good helmet but it has the wrong enchant, or I can't find a helmet with the enchant :(
A: PM Mr. Khan on discord or hit him up on his stream at
https://www.twitch.tv/mr__khan. He is a fantastic lab runner and will happily service your helmet for an incredibly fair price,
or if he's too busy, he knows a fair number of other lab runners who can service it for you that are reputable.
