Ultimatum Currency Duplication – A Simple & Efficient Farm Guide
Hey everyone, I wanted to showcase my current farming strategy: Ultimatum Currency Duplication incase any of you want to try it out.
Why Ultimatum?
Ultimatum is unique because map quality and explicit modifiers don’t matter (except for Tainted Catalysts from the Trialmaster, which we are ignoring in this strategy). That means you can run scoured white maps to make Ultimatums as safe as possible.
I also ignore all other map content—I just open the map, run to the Ultimatum, complete it, and portal out. The only exception is every 28 maps, where I kill the boss for the Exarch Altar invitation.
Also all of the profit from this strategy is literally raw divine orbs. No trading required!
Scarabs & Map Setup
For this strategy, I use:
1x Ultimatum Scarab → Eliminates the need for using chaos on the map device.
2x Bribing Ultimatum Scarabs → Ensures we reach max reward tier (10) as fast as possible.
For this video example, I’m running 10x Mesa and 10x Dry Sea, but the map choice isn’t strict. Ideally, you want maps where you can quickly find the Ultimatum, such as Dunes, Jungle Valley, or Strand—but really, use whatever maps you have on hand. This strategy is a great way to clear out excess maps.
Consumable Costs for 20 Maps
At the time of recording, the cost was:
1d, 53c total
100c for maps (but you likely already have white maps in your tab)
20c for Ultimatum Scarabs (can be avoided if you have enough idols)
100c for Bribing Scarabs
No other map device mods are used, so you can do this farm without unlocking T17 maps or Maven invitations.
The Expensive Part: Idols
Like any Phrecia strategy, the idols are the costly part.
Conqueror Idols
You need 4x Conqueror Idols with:
“Ultimatum Rewards are treated as if you completed another round”
“Chance to duplicate rewards”
When combined with Bribing Scarabs (which increase reward tiers by 4 levels), these idols ensure that:
Rewards after Round 2 are treated as Round 10 rewards
Rewards in Rounds 1 and 2 are treated as Round 8 and 9 rewards
At the time of recording:
Basic versions with just the first affix cost ~50c each. - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Phrecia/38Vny79U5
Idols with both affixes at max (25% duplication chance) cost ~15d each. - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Phrecia/EXzn8DZH5
I personally went for 23% duplication idols at ~6d each, for a total of 24d for all 4 idols. - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Phrecia/EXz29aZH5
This means I lose 4% profit, as I fail to duplicate 8% of the time. However, you can start with 0% duplication and save up for better idols.
Small Idols
The only important mod here is:
“Rewards have an increased chance to be currency items.”
You need 15 of these idols.
At the time of recording, I bought them for ~75c each, totaling 7d for all 15 idols. - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Phrecia/M9go35RhJ
If you're rich, you can buy idols that force a specific Ultimatum type, but they cost 8d-12d each. - https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Phrecia/0rD8808cg
Just stand in Stone Circles sometimes—it won’t kill you! It only adds 30-50 seconds per Ultimatum.
Unique Ultimatum Idols
There are 3 unique idols for Ultimatum:
Grueling Gauntlet
Ruinous Wager
Twist of Fate
Which Should You Use?
Twist of Fate: Lets you block reward types at the cost of slightly harder Ultimatum mods. I use one to block maps and Inscribed Ultimatums, and it only cost 3c.
Not recommend to run the below;
Grueling Gauntlet: Helps max out reward tiers if you ONLY have Bribing Scarabs, but bad Ultimatum mods aren’t worth the risk. Just run an extra map instead to make up for the missed rounds.
Ruinous Wager: Reduces monster and modifier damage significantly, but requires careful play. Good if you struggle to survive Ultimatums but requires more focus.
This method is low-cost to start but expensive to optimize. Start slow, reinvest profits into better idols, and scale up as you go.
Let me know if you have any questions!
