I've leveled with hollow palm quite a few times, and I always start with smite then usually switch to consecrated path or infernal blow as soon as I can. I quit the league a while ago but the teasers made me return for one last build. I gave away most of my stuff, but I scraped together ~20ex and started dex stacking.
I tried ice crash, but I just can't stand the skill. I looked at what other skill to play and weirdly, nobody played Hollow Palm Smite on PoE ninja :(
So I set out to make this underappreciated boi work.
Most of the build is pretty basic dex stacking, nothing exciting there.
I picked up the dancing duo and I tried to build it into a tanky culler. It kinda works, but honestly, you can play without it, there is a reason why nobody does this. It's pretty easy to get the rampage started and it's a nice bit of extra damage, but all the things going on just tanks my fps. (thus why I didn't have it on in the video, I also set rampage to 0 in pob, but you can easily get 400+-1000 rampage)
Hydrosphere: If Smite's melee hit hits a target, it can't be hit by the AoE hit. However, if you don't directly melee the boss, Smite's AoE (~3.2m Dps atm) can hit both the boss and hydrosphere due to Ancestral Call, essentially doubling your dps if it's placed well and you hit the right spot. Wouldn't say you can be very consistent with this, as you kinda just randomly slam around, but it can be a nice boost to dps at bosses.
Current Dex: 1887 (+77 dex on ring for brutal restraint)
Budget: ~30ex, but I that's in a dead league. I payed 4ex for my Smite enchanted Fractal Thoughts, but I'm sure during an active league it wouldn't be more than like 20c... or 1?)
The build is also far from min maxed, as the league is dead and it was pretty hard to get certain items, regardless of budget.
