Hello exiles,
a bit over a week ago GenuineGelidity posted his Video showcasing the interaction between Uul'Netol's Embarce and Bleed reflection for an 3.21 build. Since a lot of CDR came from the Weapon scaling the hit damage alone is not really worth it in my opinion in 3.22.
So I try to adapt and go another route which works really well!
Corrupting Fever on a Scion. So let me explain the different parts of the build:
The Main Interaction:
Uul Netol's Embrace triggers bone nova when we hit a bleeding enemy. With The Golden Rule we will reflect the bleed on ourselves. If we now hit ourselves aswell we prog the bone nova at our location or onnearby enemies. Watch the Video from GenuineGelidity for more information. He does a great way explaining it.
In this build we use the bone novas to distribute our CF and let it autotarget enemies. Since we don't scale the actual hit, we can use the sockets as we like in the weapon. So you can put in any proj support you like. The wet dream of every ranger coming true.
Getting Hit:
I personally didn't like the use Scold's Bridle. The spell damage on it doesn't give us anything and we use an item slot just for the interaction. I tried a lot and in the end the best seems to be Forbidden Rite.
The only problem is the self damage of it but thankfully The Fourth Vow exist. It's most important property is that our Armour now also applies to hits from chaos damage. Since Forbidden Rite does hit, armour will now reduce the damage we take from it. Without the chest you will die in like 4 hits to yourself. With it the damage gets nearly completly negated. And we can use Divine Flesh for some great defences for ele damage. Furthmore with can link cyclone to FR with cwc and lifetap to also keep our CF on us permanently. This just fits really well together as a whole and everything has some synergy towards each other.
Coping with Bleed:
Since we will scale a lot of damage over time effect it would be impossible to keep the Bleed on ourself if it does any damage. We are lucky tho because there is an malevolence watchers eye mod, that makes us unaffected by bleed.
Furthermore we simply need some chance to bleed and not 100%. We will hit ourselves as long as we have the bleed on us and cycloning. So I tried to put more emphasis on bleed duration in clusters and less on chance to bleed. But we should still have 70%+ in the current setup.
Scion:
Choosing an suitable ascendancy was quite hard. We sadly can't go champ because gaining adrenaline would remove the bleed. Glad has a lot to offer and might even be the better choice but I really like to have vulnerability on hit from our gloves implicit. So I went with Scion giving us a nice double curse from occultist and stun immunity because our es can't be damaged because of divine flesh. We then go Glad for damage over time and blind effect.
Scaling:
Scaling CF is quite hard. Most important are gem levels and then try to gather damage over time and physical damage wherever possible. Since CF is a debuff and not an ailment like bleed, this is the only way. I don't think cdr is really worth it because CF stacks are limited and we should cap it quite quick. There are a lot of build guides for CF and this is also where I took all my inspriation from. Defence wise armour and chaos res cap are the most important for us.
I'm currently lvl 93. More levels would go completly into life because the damage is already enough. I invested around 30-50 divs into this build.
In Summary:
So, this build is a great mapper with good damage and enough defences. I didn't limit test it but del 40 is possible and with divine flesh, 80 chaos res and over 35k armour we are absolutly fine for an SC environment defence wise aswell.
But still this is not supposed to be a build guide or build recommendation. I had a lot of fun putting this together and it works really well and it exceeded my expectations but after all, a classic CF Champ will probably be cheaper to get going and better suited for most players!
This is the first time I put a build together by myself. Currently there is no one doing this on poe.ninja. Therefore there can be a lot of improvements and I'm open for any suggestions!
